Brief general information about Simongkol Temple

Wat Simongkol (Chachoengsao Province)
It is a public temple under the Maha Nikaya Sangha, located in Laem Pradu Subdistrict, Ban Pho District, Chachoengsao Province.
Currently, there is Phrakru Sutasilawisut (Phonchai Piyasilo, P.Th.3) as the abbot.
Wat Simongkol had a faithful donor who contributed land to the temple, approximately 12 rai, 3 ngan, and 16 square wah. The donor was a person of Chinese descent named Mr. Paesi, and this donation took place in 1917. Subsequently, the temple was built in 1922.
The Wisungkhamsima, originally located in the northern part of the temple, was bestowed on August 26, 1957. However, on February 21, 1996, a new Wisungkhamsima was received, leading to the demolition of the old chapel.
The construction of the new chapel, along with the Pavilion, was completed in 2002. The total cost amounted to 14 million baht, with Mr. Samruam Muendet and Mr. Raket Charoensuk supervising and managing the construction funds. The project was overseen by the temple committee, with Phra Rector Lek Wirapunyo serving as the abbot. This construction project was undertaken to honor the vision of the donors.
The important buildings and facilities within the temple include the chapel, which measures 22.70 meters in length and 9.50 meters in width, facing westward. The roof of the chapel is adorned with ancient tiles and features sky vine, rooster leaves, and a swan's tail. Additionally, there is a cement gable with a Trimurti on a tray, a 2-story bell tower, and two pollution-free crematoriums.
